Poster – Battle of the Titans – Signed Edition

In the 1990s Michael Keyser, racer and photographer, had the idea for this special project. This poster contains photographs, which Keyser took during the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1970. 24 of these photographs are on this high-quality print and it comes with original signatures of some of the starters of this race.

The race 1970 is one of the most known Le Mans races. Porsche secured the long awaited and deserved overall victory and due to the Steve McQueen movie the race got a legendary status. The battle of the titans refers to the battle between the three Porsche teams Porsche Salzburg, John Wyer Automotive and Martini & Rossi Racing, as well as to the battle between Ferrari and Porsche. Ferrari and John Wyer suffered heavy losses already before midnight and so Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood took over the lead with their cautious driving style to take a much celebrated victory in Porsche 917K of Porsche Salzburg.

Gradually, Keyser went to the living drivers. All in all he reached 25 drivers for this project.

The signed posters are considered to be sold out since a couple of years, but for the 5 year anniversary of AUTOMOBILSPORT Sportfahrer publishing took the last 10 remaining posters from the archives to offer them for sale now.
