It was the 356 that helped the then little-known sports car manufacturer Porsche achieve the cult status it still enjoys today. When customers won their first races with this model in 1951, graphic designer Erich Strenger drew a poster to draw attention to the young company. It showed Porsche winning the classic "24 Hours of Le Mans" in the category up to 1,100 cc.
This was virtually the starting signal for an entire series of posters with which Porsche communicated its more than one hundred victories in various circuit races and on the world's Grand Prix and rally tracks. However, it is not only the many victories that are remarkable, but also the very distinctive, memorable design language that Strenger developed and refined over the decades. Many of these posters became coveted and highly traded collector's items.
This calendar continues the tradition of this award-winning graphic and design history, which Porsche maintained after Erich Strenger's death, and presents twelve exquisite motifs. Also included is information on the races portrayed and the racing and road vehicles depicted.
